A common industry practice is to design race bearings with excessive crush height. However, the extreme operating conditions and degree of individualization in today’s race engines call for greater design precision.

King responded with RadiaLock™.

OPTIMIZED CRUSH HEIGHT

RadiaLock™ is an optimal crush height value obtained from an optimization process that customizes each bearing crush height to its specific performance requirements.

During the process, King’s ENSIM™ system analyzes optional height crush values, taking into account engine block or conrod material, coefficient of thermal expansion, torque and more. Following the process, the perfect RadiaLock™ is reached for each bearing in each application.

KING'S RACING pMaxBlack™

The pMaxBlack™ overlay contains 5% copper. It is further strengthened by a proprietary nano-scaled hardening process that modifies the molecular structure and creates a black fatigue-resistant shield. The outcome is a significant 29% increase in overlay hardness (18.1HV) and overall 24% increase in load capacity (10,200 psi).

SecureBond™ – Maximum tri-metal structural integrity

High loads and high RPM’s create critical stresses that travel through the multi-layer construction of a tri-metal race bearing. SecureBond™ is a micro-etch surface preparation process that strengthens the tri-metal structural integrity. SecureBond™ reduces the likelihood of catastrophic failure due to delamination of one layer from the other under extreme load conditions or metal–to-metal contact.
